Masterson’s Tavern , positioned in the vibrant core of Moonee Ponds, advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my recent visit at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I experienced behind its doors was disturbing and far below any standard .
The State of the Venue : Squalid and Abandoned
From the moment I walked in , it was immediately obvious that upkeep was not a priority at this bar . The floorboards were filthy, and a foul smell of stale beer and dirty bathrooms suffused the entire pub. Emitting a scent of a mixture of excrement , putrefaction and sour vomit . The bar area , which should be the focal point of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and debris that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages . The restroom was in even a more revolting state —overflowing , with a broken handle and walls covered in what I can only assume was fecal matter .

As I dug deeper , I was stunned to find numerous complaints against him involving misconduct , with multiple women alleging that he of sending indecent material .
